Accredited Hypnotherapy Course

He provides a unique experience for his clients by coaching them to learn to learn for themselves - through awareness. This, combined with his practical knowledge of the benefits of Hypnotherapy and NLP, provides each client with the opportunity to break through current patterns of thought and behaviour.

The Curriculum

Dedicated Hypnotherapy/NLP & Life Coach Training Course

The Ericksonian Hypnotherapy diploma course covers a dedicated training programme of tutor led tuition, taking place over ten weekends in Bournemouth, Dorset. This makes it easy for you to attend while also managing your family and career needs. Each in-house training session consists of a consecutive Saturday and Sunday session, each day lasting about 7.5 hours. A number of weeks (usually about 4) are allowed to elapse between each class in order for you to be able to undertake periods of home study and other course work.

Below - in order for you to make an informed choice - you will find some more detailed information relating to the elements included within the training programme - guidelines to which we adhere in order to deliver training to recognised standards.

Purpose of Training

Our training courses are designed specifically to train you to be able to competently go straight into clinical practice as a professional hypnotherapist.

Training Course Content

We ensure that your competencies meet the required standard of both theoretical understanding and practical application.

The Format

The curriculum of the course is divided to cover approximately 50% practical training and 50% theory training which includes:

Fostering Rapport

Understanding the need for rapport and learning a number of ways in which rapport can be established and enhanced. Also included NLP-based, pacing, leading, matching and mirroring.

Developing Effective Communication

In-depth analysis of Non Verbal Communication (NVC) skills. Learning to understand and appreciate the distinctions in the art of effective communication. Covering tonality, inflection, pace of delivery and speech pattern styles.

Trance Inductions

Covering a number of formal / classical inductions along with a variety of permissive Ericksonian techniques. How to end a trance—a number of principles for doing so.

Trance Checklist

What a practitioner needs to run through with a client before entering into trancework.

Therapeutic Intervention Techniques

Covering a wide variety of both direct and indirect therapeutic techniques for use in clinical practice.

Information Gathering

It is important that students understand what the therapist needs to know about his/her client and what the client needs to know about his/her therapy. Also covering the effective use of case notes and record keeping, confidentiality, boundaries, areas of specialism, treatment costs, etc.

How to deal with abreaction

Your training as a clinical practitioner will include understanding what an abreaction is, why it sometimes occurs and how to deal with it.

Revivification/Transderivational Search and related investigatory techniques

You will learn the art of hypnotic revivification and related investigatory techniques for therapeutic work including content free NLP based methods and non verbal techniques.

Theoretical Training

Your theoretical training with us will include an understanding of the history of hypnosis, NLP and coaching.

Core Skills

Utilising all of the Core Skills; which include hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching skills in a competent manner.

Contraindications

Certain conditions necessitate special care when considering the use of hypnotherapy - we’ll cover what they are and what options you have.

Written and oral assessment

You will be invited to complete some written work to demonstrate your understanding of various hypnotherapy and NLP techniques along with oral assessment of your therapeutic language patterns.

Demonstration and observation

Throughout the training course you will be able to demonstrate your skills - along with the other students - in practical exercises. These will be observed by the tutors in order to further help you develop your expanding repertoire of therapeutic tools.

Specialised Units

As previously outlined our training course includes learning interconnected Neuro Linguistic Programming approaches which dovetail neatly into the hypnotherapy skills that you will develop.

Membership

Once qualified you'll be able to apply for membership of The Complementary Medical Association, The General Hypnotherapy Register, The General NLP Register, The Hypnotherapy Association and The Hypnotherapy Society.

With NLP Practitioner Certificate and Life Coach Certificate

Your Ericksonian Hypnotherapy Diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of your classroom training and related Home Study work. You'll also be awarded a Practitioner Certificate in NLP and a Life Coaching Certificate upon completion—along with your Ericksonian Hypnotherapy Diploma—due to the level of NLP and Life Coaching training you will receive.

Kerin Webb is the author of two books about hypnosis and is highly qualified in the field of hypnotherapy/NLP.
